Emandla Ekuphila Water District Mandate

• 1. Exercise control over the operation and maintenance of water works in the district and distribution of permitted volumes of water in accordance with permits.
• 2. Exercise such powers with respect to enforcement of permits and the provisions of the water act.
• 3. Take all reasonable steps to avoid the waste or misuse of water.
• 4. Levy and collect rates and charges, subject to the approval of the board to defray the costs of the district.
• 5. Maintain true accounts of its expenditures, hold general meetings at least once a year and disclose accounts on its activities.
• 6. Pass bylaws necessary to enable them to fulfill their obligation.
