Today, EEWUD hosted an end of water year (2025/2026) workshop at EEWUD Conference Room in Sihhoye, bringing together farm managers and supervisors from different farming institutions to engage on critical aspects of water use within the Komati Basin. The workshop focused on reviewing water allocations, consumption patterns, strengthening compliance with permitted volumes, enhancing communication and reporting mechanisms among water users. These discussions are essential in promoting transparency, accountability and sustainable utilization of water resources. Water users were taken through key presentations on water use reconciliation, enabling them to better understand how to align actual usage with allocated volumes. The session also provided a platform for open dialogue, allowing farmers to share challenges, insights and practical solutions for improved water management. Through initiatives like these, EEWUD continues to reinforce its role in monitoring water use and ensuring compliance while empowering stakeholders with the knowledge and tools needed to responsibly manage water resources.
